About

I'm Sue, the founder of Fieldwork Patterns—a collection of styles inspired by the clothes I’ve created with and for my teenage daughter, Georgina. We’re excited to share these designs with you and invite you to join us on our journey toward sustainable fashion.

After spending many years in London as a professional Creative Pattern Cutter for renowned brands such as Jaeger, Burberry, and Amanda Wakeley, I relocated to the stunning Isle of Wight. Here in Newport, I teach from my studio, empowering others to craft their own clothes and experience the joy of creating unique garments. Alongside teaching, I continue my work as a Freelance Pattern Cutter.

Over time, I became increasingly aware of the fashion industry's impact on our planet. This realization inspired me to chart a new path and launch Fieldwork Patterns. My hope is that these exciting new designs will spark your creativity, encouraging you to make your own clothes and experience the joy of crafting something truly personal. There’s a special sense of accomplishment in wearing a piece you’ve made yourself—one that’s not only enduring but also sustainable.
